Well, everything's hot in August in Arizona. But here are some exciting events to keep you away from the sun and away from boredom!! From festivals to workshops to game nights and concerts, the city is buzzing!!

1. Summer Night Market & Paint N Sip


 This vibrant market is hosted by Olla Olla Crepes! This lively event showcases a variety of local vendors, delicious food, engaging art activities, and live music. Enjoy a fun-filled evening with R&B playing all night long. Bring your families & friends for a fun summer night. It is FREE entry or if you'd like to do the Paint N Sip activity, tickets start at $30.

2. Sonoran Showcase Concert Series


Escape the heat and enjoy local live music bands at Walter Studios in Downtown Phoenix! Join us for a summer evening concert full of fun—entry is free! Who can say no to a free concert after all?

3. Prescott Summer Fine Art & Wine Festival


Don't worry, it's cooler temps in Prescott! This is an outdoor event held at the historic Courthouse Plaza in Downtown Prescott. This festival features over 100 exceptional fine art vendors and offers a variety of activities for all ages, including artist demonstrations, kids’ art, and interactive art activities! Entry is free and wine tastings start at only $20

4. Bad & Boozie Bingo At The Churchill


Good news, this is a reoccurring event! You can play $5 bingo at the Churchill in downtown Phoenix every 1st Tuesday of the month if you don 't win this time around! There are great community vibes all around here, and DJs to help with the vibe, too.

5. Cars & Coffee at the Martin Auto Museum


Pretty sure a select group of people are going to be in absolute awe here. But, here's the best part.. if you're NOT a car fanatic like me, you just throw the words free coffee and donuts in there and suddenly I'm paying attention! Come to this fantastic auto museum to see all of the vintage car displays. Tickets are $15 for entry, but like I said, this includes free coffee & donuts which makes it even MORE worth it!!

6. Science With A Twist - Crafts & Cocktails


The Arizona Science Center is trying to bring out your inner chemist and have you experiment with cocktails! Plus, there's going to be other nifty vendors including jewelry-making and art workshops there! They have plenty of events here, and members always get discounted tickets. Non-member tickets start at $30.

7. Disco in the Desert: A Night of 70s Nostalgia


So, dust off your bell-bottoms, grab your glitter, and get ready to boogie the night away at the most unforgettable disco extravaganza. 8. Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars Live


Prepare to be dazzled by an electrifying drag queen drag race, where fierce performers showcase their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent in a thrilling competition! The program challenges contestants in tough competitions, one consisting of a dramatic lip-sync battle where one queen must sashay away. Filled with humor, drama, and constant entertainment, the show has spotlighted drag queen culture and the LGBTQ+ community. Tickets start at $50.

9. Salsa Tequila & Taco Challenge


The 11th annual event of this infamous challenge! Prepare for an evening of elevated cocktail craft and culinary creativity at this signature event. Sample unique creations like chicharron-infused salsa, dulce de leche dessert tacos, and watermelon Sour Patch Kids margaritas. Join over 700 attendees in celebrating with live music, lucha libre wrestling, artist painting, and vibrant local culture. Vote for the best salsa, tequila, and tacos crafted by top mixologists and chefs at one of Southern Arizona's most colorful summer festivals! Admission starts at $100, and if you stay at the El Conquistador Resort your room and ticket will be discounted. I recommend making a trip out of it!

10. Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo at The Westworld Of Scottsdale


It's Labor Day weekend! Join thousands of fans at the 13th annual Arizona Black Rodeo, celebrating African-American rodeo competitors and Western heritage. Enjoy thrilling events like bull riding, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing, the grand entry parade and live DJs. Cheer on contestants as they compete for prizes, buckles, and bragging rights at "hottest show on dirt"—educational, entertaining, and fun for everyone! Tickets start at $45.

11. Labor Day Weekend Sunset Yoga on the Lawn


Enjoy a sunset yoga session on Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale's lawn during Labor Day weekend to help destress. Practice your poses and get that body moving in the shadows of beautiful Camelback Mountain. Tickets are only $10, but please B.Y.O.M (Bring Your Own Matt), as they say in yoga terms.

12. Summer Cooking Class - Hosted by Barrio Queen and PHX Children's Hospital


Participants will have the chance to master the art of creating Barrio Queen's favorite dishes. This session's menu focuses on grilling in Mexican cuisine. Learn to make Baked Chile Relleno Chicken Casserole, Authentic Flan, and complete the meal with House-made Horchata and a Spicy Blackberry Margarita (for adults)! A $20 donation is requested as the only admission fee.
